Skaha Lake Hockey Skills Academy
We are very excited to announce that Skaha Lake Middle School is offering a Hockey Canada Skills Academy. The Hockey Academy is a partnership between Hockey Canada, Okanagan Hockey Group and Skaha Lake Middle School.
The Academy is available to students, male and female, entering into Grades 6, 7 or 8. Students of all abilities are able to participate in the Academy. Students will be required to have a full set of equipment and a positive attitude in order to participate.
The program will run from September to June and will consist of 47 on-ice sessions of 55 minutes each. The on-ice sessions will begin in mid-September and the last on-ice session will be at the end of June. Off-ice sessions will be for classroom, dry land, health education, fitness and seasonal sport skill development (soccer, baseball, volleyball, etc). Each group will be on the ice from 8:40 to 9:35 am on their designated ice session days. Transition time will be given for students to change and return to school. Transportation to the arena is the parents' responsibility but transportation back to SLMS will be provided.
Cost for the program will range from $800 to $1,100 per student, depending on student participation. In order to commence registration we will require a deposit of $250 and a completed registration form which can be found here: https://www.okanaganhockey.com/academies/penticton/
